Welcome to SAFIA.

The South African Foundation for Islamic Art has as its main aims to promote and cultivate an appreciation for Islamic Art locally, nationally and internationally. We organise exhibitions of art in various forms in appropriate spaces.

We establish links and engage with similar organisations to promote the work and objectives of SAFIA.

By reaching out to many from the suburbs and townships, we create an alternate aspiration for the talented and creative youth in particular establish an Africa wide network with organisations and bodies with similar aims and objectives organise workshops in the various genres of the art form locally and nationally

Create a unique visual identity for South African Islamic Art andestablish a platform to showcase South African Islamic Art.

Mission

Integrate Islamic Art intothe general art culture within South Africa.Create and nurture the market instruments necessary to establisha more stable and sustainable Islamic Art market within South Africa.Establish South African Islamic Art as a respected and valued brandinternationally.

Objectives

Expose Islamic Art to the broader muslim and non-muslim community,through educational workshops and exhibition awareness programs.To encourage skills development within South African Islamic Art.To network and partner withlike-minded organisations nationallyand internationally.To create awareness of the benefits of Islamic Art and to preserve its legacy.

Our Aim

The South African Foundation for Islamic Art has as its
