I was born in District Six and grew up in Walmer Estate. After my marriage, I moved to Athlone where I still reside.

I learnt embroidery from my late mother. After an accident which affected the use of my hands, my craft became occupational therapy for me, thus re-enabling the full use of my hands.

Encouraged about discovering an artistic flair in myself, I tried my hand at calligraphy so that I could spread Allah’s Qalam in the houses of people. I am thankful that Allah SWT has granted me this ability to create art in various forms Algamdullilah.
